Public Notes
A place to understand India through clear explanations, useful context and questions worth thinking about.
I started Public Notes as a public notebook: short notes in my own words, each with a link a reader could share. The study collections extend that idea to history, geography, governance, economy, science and society.
Choose your way in
Use the companion library for 300 UPSC foundation notes and 100 current affairs explainers. Read Indian Democracy in 100 Notes for institutions and citizenship, or use the topic quizzes to test your understanding.
The public notebook
The original essays, history and reflections remain available alongside the study material.

- How the protests started after Lahore
- Parallel analysis of Lahore 1929 and a new India
